💵 Tax Innocence II: Unresolved Questions About Its Implementation

Although the Tax Innocence II Law is already in force, certain aspects still require further regulation, and questions remain regarding the scope of its benefits in relation to provincial and municipal tax authorities.

In an article by Melisa Reinhold, published in LA NACION, Fernanda Laiún explained that further clarification is needed on how tax authorities will address certain discrepancies they identify and how previous tax periods will be treated.

She also addressed the possibility of provincial tax claims when funds are brought into the formal financial system. She noted that a provincial tax authority may request explanations regarding the origin of the funds, but this does not necessarily mean that they must be treated as taxable income. Whether the funds can be justified as savings will depend on the circumstances of each case and the consistency of the taxpayer’s overall financial position.
